Grilled Flank Steak
Ingredients:
1 ea 1-2 lb Beef Flank Steak
2 Tbsp Olive oil
1/3 C Spice Union Beef Barbeque Rub
-
Bring the flank steak to room temperature.
-
Preheat your gas grill or charcoal grill to at least 400°F- setting up for direct-heat cooking (meaning you will be cooking over the hottest part of the heat source). For charcoal grills, we opt for starting our fire with lump charcoal, then adding small pieces of wood to maintain the temperature throughout the cook.
-
Brush the flank steak with the olive oil.
-
Liberally season the entire flank steak with Spice Union Beef Barbeque Rub.
-
Place the flank steak over the hottest part of the grill.
-
Cook the flank steak for 3-4 minutes, then give the flank steak a quarter turn, but do not flip the flanks steak yet.
-
After another 3 minutes, flip the flank steak.
-
Cook the flank steak for 3 minutes, then give the flank steak another quarter turn.
-
Cook the flank steak until it reaches your desired doneness (internal temps: 120°F for rare, 125°F for medium-rare, 130°F for medium).
-
Remove the flank steak from the grill and let it sit for at least 4 minutes before cutting.
-
Cut the flank steak against the grain of the muscle fibers.
-
Serve with grilled vegetables, a drizzle of olive oil or a great chimichurri sauce. (Click here for the Chimichurri sauce recipe)
